Matsya Sampada Scheme

There are a lot of possibilities in fish farming. For developing these opportunities Matsya sampada yojana was started. The prime minister launched this scheme last year through a video conference. This scheme will be implemented for five years from 2020 to 2025. A very big part of the total population is connected with fisheries. And increasing their income is the main target of this scheme.

Targets of Matsya Sampada Scheme

• This scheme will make a present outline for retail outlets of fishes.
• Through this scheme, fisheries will become more developed and with this GDP and employment will also be increased.
• The aim of this scheme is to generate at least 55 lakhs of direct and indirect employment in the fisheries sector and increasing their income also.
• Increasing fishing products to 70 lakh tons till the year 2024–25.
• Taking income from the export of fisheries to 1 lakh crore till the year 2025.
• Decreasing the after-production damage from 20%-25% to 10%.
